Everybody

A modern take on the morality play, EveryMan, Everybody follows the process of death with heavy comedy and cynicism.
5 actors in this production played Somebodies. These Somebodies participated in a raffle every night in order to assign their roles, which were different every performance.
I started by creating a costume plot and collected images to represent the general vibe for each character.
Process:
I created a dressing sheet including what each actor would wear for each possible character, including a total of 25 possible character and actor pairings.
I collaborated with the actors, sourcing as much as possible from their closets, and buying the rest of the needed garments 2nd hand.
By creating a similar base between all of the Somebodies, I emphasized the importance of the added accessories to define each character. The silly accessories also aided comedic moments throughout the show.
I had open dialogue with actors about removing garments to their individual comfortability which influenced my design.
